Brisbane Metro – ADCO Constructions

Overview: Brisbane City Council (BCC) is currently investing over $1 billion in transport hubs throughout the wider Brisbane Local Government Area (LGA). One of BCC’s major hubs is the Brisbane Metro Depot which will house an initial fleet of 60 fully electric metro vehicles. These Metros will provide a “turn up and go” public transport system connecting the suburbs to the city. The overall goal of the Metros is to reduce congestion, making it easier to travel around the city and to remove an estimated 50,000 tonnes of tailpipe greenhouse gas emissions over the next 20 years.

The development took place on a 100,000m2 block in Rochdale which was previously occupied by large residential sections, a turf farm and mature vegetation.
